PC Woes

Holy Christ… I m finally back online after nearly 2 months of no-show!

To begin, my old comp broke down a couple of months back… Found out that the motherboard got KO’ed. I then went to SimLim Square & purchased a new PCI-express motherboard (MSI 915p Neo2).

This new motherboard is a nightmare. Kena static for no freaking reason (resulting in failure to boot up system) and restarts itself randomly (when I m using windows). I couldn’t figure what went wrong so I took it for technical support at Corbell (the hardware dealer of MSI).

To cut the long story short, a lot of bullsh*t concerning this motherboard happened after that…. And in the end, I had to wait for nearly 2 months to get a new working piece, as the Corbell staff sent my defective piece back to freaking Taiwan for repairs. It was absolute murder to me, as I have my final year project going on then. Thank god I managed to pull through… Bloody hell….

Then one fine day, Corbell contacted me to collect the “repaired” motherboard. I thought that everything would be fine after such a loooooong wait. HELL NO! The repaired piece KO’ed the instant I installed it and I brought it back to Corbell and bitched the hell out of them. They couldn’t explain what’s wrong and it definitely isn’t wrong installation, because my brother helped me to install it, and he’s a hardware guru. Besides, if the motherboard was spoilt by wrong installation, the warranty would be void, and no one voided my warranty, so it obviously isn’t my side that’s screwing up!

Corbell then gave me a new piece (AGAIN) and this model of motherboard still performed worse than an old-man without Viagra.

Finally, I gave up on this lousy motherboard and went to buy a new model (Gigabyte GA-G1975x). The Gigabyte motherboard performed sooooo much better, which explains why I m finally able to get online and blog this whole incident.

I thought I m the only suay kia, but I later found out that others who purchased MSI motherboards also kena lots of problems. The bottomline? Do NOT buy MSI motherboards (the PCI-express ones)…. Support Gigabyte all the way, man!

(Pardon my weird grammar… I m damn tired… )
